Michael Bay’s “The Dark Knight” script?

batman | film general | jokes | michael bay | script | the dark knight

Chris Nolan too cerebral for you? Thought Batman Begins had too much talky-talk and not enough exploding shit? Well, we can certainly dream! spill.com got themselves the “exclusive” here. It’s almost too easy to take the piss out of the various clichéd tics in Michael Bay’s oevre (is the word “oevre” a bit much when describing a [...]

Push-Ups Get Political: Obamaerobics

aerobics | barack obama | barack your body | bill t jones | claudia la rocco | dance | dance blogs | education | international | lana wilson | movement | new york city | nyc | obamaerobics | performing the political | politics | soho dance | the culturist

Last night I attended my second Obamaerobics class, an intense one-hour aerobic workout to support the Obama campaign. About 25 other people and I filled a studio at Soho Dance to support the cause. It definitely wasn’t the typical aerobics class of the 80s with bad music and even worse movement. Rather, [...]

Wow! Mixing politics with aerobics, I thought the idea was to encourage people to like politics, not make them dislike it more.

The women of Britain are disgusting, apparently

dementation | disgust | dispair | feminism | men | misogyny | women

Misogyny is alive and well. As if we ever thought otherwise. From the Daily Mail: Young British women leave behind their inhibitions as well as their worries when they go on their summer holiday, a survey shows. One-third of those questioned admitted having slept with at least two men during the same holiday. One in six has had a [...]

I wonder who these Daily Mail readers are? I mean, they can't actually be real life human beings?

Comment on The women of Britain are disgusting, apparently by Perpetual

Frankly, given the appalling journalistic standard of the Daily Wail, its sensationalist reporting style and its readers I am not surprised about either the article or the associated comments.

What scares me is how many people actually BUY this newspaper. People with whom I work who seem like perfectly reasonable people bring in this rag and I feel like screaming at them- How could you!

Those comments give me the creeps. I often find though that the commenters on almost all online newspapers give full vent to their misogny, racism and narrow-mindedness. Something to do with being safely anonymous.

But boys are as tempted to stray as girls... So the story itself even indicates that it is a non-story. I can't believe people get paid to write this shit.

Blue, they're as real as you and I, alas. They just stand on a different side of the road, as it were. Perp, it's an appalling publication, yes. And it's a disgrace that anyone reads it, but it has a massive following. And, unfortunately, as I've just said to Blue, its following comprises Real People (shocking as that is). And they're the same people who, for example, would not convict a rapist, regardless of the evidence, because the victim was wearing a short skirt. That's why it troubles me. Helen, what is it about!? It's not even well written or particularly informative! Charlotte, it's very easy to sit behind a computer screen and call people 'sluts' or any other offensive term. I used to think that opening up newspapers online for public commenting was a very progressive idea. Now I just see that it mainly just offers a voice to the most bigoted people we have. LYG, right! That WHOLE point was ignored. A few people flagged it up in the comments, but to what use.

Comment on Installing Opera Mini on a Palm TX by Another Dave

Yeah, it's buggy as all get out! It crashes constantly. I have the 5.7.1 Java version and Opera Mini for my Palm Centro. Anybody got any ideas on how to fix my crashing problem? Would 5.7.2 be a better version for my Palm? BTW, lol, I'm a noob, but is taking the battery out a good way to reset the device?

Nice layout, Adfest

Not. It’s looks like a poster, not a website. Where’s the interface, yo? Why do post-event websites generally have to suck? Thank goodness Cannes Lions doesn’t suck, although their coding is a bit on the sloppy side. Ha ha.

Oh no, no, no, no! That is the VERY worst thing you can do. Never sleep alone. That's when they get you. Always stay with other people when it's dark. Remember: NEVER, EVER SLEEP ALONE.

Space Invaders 30th Anniversary

space invaders | video games

2008 marks the 30th Anniversary for the classic ‘Space Invaders’.  One of the most monumental games in the history of man-kind, where the player would shoot waves of aliens with a laser gun.  Upon the release in 1978 it caused a shortage of Yen all over Japan and earned game developer Taito over US$ 500 [...]
