Comment on I Broke My *_%@ Toe. Again. by treyka

I knew it, Longing! It's the air or something around here! PP, I'm happy (and a little intimidated) to know I have that much influence on Cass!

WHAT?? You didn't like Wall-E? It was so adorable! I know why you hated it. It was quiet and subtle, which is your polar opposite! You're exciting and over-the-top!

Unsatisfied

I’ve noticed lately that I’m not the only one who’s unsatisfied. I was at Theo and Aysha’s life development group a couple weeks ago, and we were talking about evangelism. One guy said he wasn’t sure he wanted to do the “evangelism thing” where we do it because we have to, because it’s the “Christian thing [...]

I immediately identified with your frustration in this post. I remembering feeling that way asGod was started to direct us toward the mission field, and later clarfied it as Thailand. I wrote a post back in August 9, 2007 called Dissatisfied., I searched for it right after reading this post. I, I mean the Holy Spirit said through me... "Dissatisifaction is the birthplace of the next great thing God wants to do in your life. (or something like that!) Hunt it down and read it and let me know what you think.

My apologies for my prolonged absence. Last week I had an excuse - I was blogging about the Dutch Film Festival here in Utrecht over at filmtotaal - but now I really don’t any more, especially since I have much to write about.  For instance, as a tribute to the fantastic actor and human the world [...]

Comment on how to spot a video game deal a mile away by Michael Hendricks

Great article. I'm the programmer for VGPC, so I always love to hear about people who enjoy our site. We'll have to look into making an article about the relation of VC releases to the market price of used games. Thanks for the idea. As for the time of year when prices are the lowest, it's actually in early November. Last year, we published an article on our blog highlighting the seasonal changes in video game prices . I hope that helps.

Comment on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid by Michiel

That's the way these things go. I watched Butch Cassidy first and really liked it. When I saw The Sting a couple of weeks later I didn't like it all. Maybe I should give it a second chance. I still like Cool Hand Luke better though.

Comment on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid by Nick Plowman

I completely agree in that it is a very good film, featuring one of Newman’s best performances ever. I think it is my favourite film he was ever in, but I am not too sure, there are too many good ones to narrow down, for me at least.

Comment on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid by Alexander Coleman

I've always preferred Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid to The Sting . I don't know what is with me, as for some reason I've seemingly always favored tonal inconsistency and a certain languidness to what, by contrast, is an enjoyable caper but never quite viscerally registers for me (though I do enjoy The Sting ). This is a fine appreciation, made more so by your very well related change of heart. Michiel, I love Cool Hand Luke ; I apologize for the blatant self-plug, but perhaps you'd enjoy this . (Sorry, that ends my selfish plug!) If your boyfriend is 6'4" or 6'5", as I believe you once said, perhaps you should call him "Stretch," something I'm occasionally called by others at 6'2"-1/2. Or maybe "The Angry Inch." Or "Chef's Assistant," baking pepernoten. Or "Larry's Guardian." I'm just working with what I know here!

Comment on Morphoses: Gala Performance by Danielle

As you know I had a lot of comments immediately following this performance. A week later, however, and my mind is drawing a huge blank. I think this is indicative of the lack of impression this program left on me. :-) One of my co-workers had a very interesting take on Wheeldon's work, calling it extremely sexist. It's not something I thought of at the time, but looking back I can see what he meant. The women throughout the program weren't allowed to do much, but were rather lifted and contorted into positions by the male dancers, nothing more than human props. Molnar's piece was awful. I felt like she was trying to emulate "In The Upper Room," which as we both know, should just be left alone. From the repetitive music, to the jittery movement, I kept wanting the piece to evolve and take me to another plane. Alas, no one should try to re-create a masterpiece. I actually liked Commedia the best, I think. I'm not sure why, because it certainly wasn't very compelling. It was a welcome break from the serious and somber program that lead into it however - at least the show ended lightly. 15 years old. My gosh!

Comment on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid by FilmDr

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid seems capable of meriting polar-opposite reviews simultaneously. Pauline Kael blasted the film for its sexist treatment of Katherine Ross and its cavalier attitude towards shooting Bolivians, and yet Newman and Redford were never more charming and playful together than in this film, and the action scenes are well done (with the opening homage to the beginning of White Heat). I've always enjoyed the movie, even though I understand why others dislike it. It's kind of brilliantly shallow.

What in the world could God have in store for you and your family? Any hint of direction? Interests? I am sure He didn't restore you so you could be "just average". Really excited to hear about all the wild adventures that will come through your radical obedience!!!!!Blessings!
